Uegahara Rail Fair

The Uegahara Rail Fair was held at Kwansei Gakuin Hall over three days from July 29, as part of events commemorating the 125th anniversary of the university’s founding. This year is the sixth time that the event was held for children in local communities and railroad fans.

At the venue, German G-gauge large-scale model trains, which are hardly ever seen in Japan, and handcrafted O-gauge model trains, which are also rare in Japan, were exhibited. Children visiting the venue gazed intently at these model trains.

Moreover, mini-concerts were held by the Kwansei Gakuin University Symphony Band, which performed the school song “Sora no Tsubasa” and other songs, such as “Senro wa tsuzuku yo doko made mo.” Miyatan, the tourism mascot of Nishinomiya City, and Soraran, the mascot of Kwansei Gakuin University assisting an “expansion of links through the school song ‘Sora no Tsubasa’ project,” which is part of events commemorating the 125th anniversary, appeared at the venue to further warm up the event. These mascots were greeted with shouts of welcome by children visiting the venue.
