On April 1st, 2017, an entrance ceremony was held in the Central Auditorium on Kwansei Gakuin University’s Nishinomiya-Uegahara campus, welcoming approximately 400 new graduate students to KGU.
University President Osamu Murata offered the following words of encouragement to the students: “In the coming years, I believe that it will be natural for different disciplines to unite and form new fields of study. Certainly, it is vital to conduct serious research in your own field, but it is also important to possess a broad perspective. Even for a minor project, be proud that you are contributing something to society, and devote yourself to your research.”
Chancellor Musubi Tabuchi told the incoming graduate students, “I hope that you will gain knowledge that you can only learn at Kwansei Gakuin, as well as knowledge that you can learn specifically because you are a student at Kwansei Gakuin. I would like you all to discover how to live your lives with an abundance of empathy and integrity, as global citizens who embody the school motto of ’Mastery for Service.’”
