Institute of Business and Accounting Commended by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

On October 23rd, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) held an award ceremony for the “2017 Industrial Standardization Project” at the Hotel New Otani in Chiyoda, Tokyo. The Institute of Business and Accounting, Professional Graduate School, Kwansei Gakuin University, received a commendation. This ceremony is held every year by METI. Intended to contribute to the development of national industry, the project aims to promote the development of personnel who are up to global standards, as well as assessment activities related to industrial standards and adaptability in Japan.


The IBA offers a course in “Standardization Management Strategies,” which can be of use to businesses in standardization. This initiative contributes to education concerning systems of industrial standardization, and it was highly rated for its achievements, which will serve as a model for others. Takashi Matsumoto, who played an active role in standardization education at the IBA since long before the establishment of the “Standardization Management Strategies” course, as well as visiting professors at the IBA, all attended the ceremony.
