Simultaneous Lighting on Three Campuses

On December 4th, Kwansei Gakuin University held Christmas tree lighting ceremonies on its Nishinomiya Uegahara, Nishinomiya Seiwa and Kobe-Sanda campuses. Due to poor weather, the ceremony on the Nishinomiya Uegahara campus was held in the Central Auditorium. Students from the elementary school, junior high, high school and university gathered to attend the ceremonies, in addition to faculty members and neighborhood families. After the wind ensemble played hymns at the ceremony on the Nishinomiya Uegahara campus, Motoo Nakamichi, head of the School of Theology, gave a Christmas message, telling those in attendance to “reexamine your hearts and make them holy places, in order to welcome in Jesus Christ.”

Afterward, representatives from the university, high school, junior high and elementary school joined together with the crowd to begin a countdown before activating the lights. The button was pressed, and all at once, beams of bright light burst from the Himalayan cedar trees by the clock tower, eliciting cheers from the crowd.

The Christmas trees will stay lit on each campus until December 25th.
