At the beginning of the event, professors from the Contemporary Japan Program took the stage and gave congratulatory messages to the students, who greeted them with cheers and applause. After the buffet-style dinner party, there were songs and performances, as well as speeches, from exchange students.

In his speech, exchange student Joao, from the University of Oslo in Norway, said:

"Looking back on this year, there are people whom I became close with, and people who never spoke to me once, but we are all comrades, and friends, who share the same wonderful memories. Don't let the word 'limit' exist in your day-to-day life. When you go back to your home country, I hope you will raise your head high, be confident, and make use of what you learned during your time abroad. Let's look ahead and move toward the future."

Other exchange students made comments like, "Perfect! I feel like everyone here is a family," "It was one of the best experiences of my life," "With the small class sizes, I was able to really learn Japanese," and "I got lost on campus at first, but now it's like my home."
