Academic Commons was completed in April 2013 at the Kobe-Sanda Campus. Its Active Learning Zone is a large space that can be used for group learning and presentation preparations, study results presentations and other events. The Communication Zone is a space where students can feel relaxed and refreshed at a café between classes.
Lambuth Memorial Chapel
This Chapel was built as part of the project to commemorate the 111th anniversary of the founding of Kwansei Gakuin. Featuring a full-scale pipe organ, this chapel accommodates a total of 180 persons on the first and second floors combined.
Student Hall Ⅰ
Student Hall I houses Coop’s Lunch Box (cafeteria) and Toy Box (bookstore), offering substantial services to support student life, offering meals, books, and stationery. This facility also introduces accommodations and accepts applications for tours.
The gymnasium, used for physical education classes and extracurricular activities, is also available for open use, enabling students to enjoy sports with their kindred-spirit friends at their leisure.
In this student hall, meals are available and you can fill your breaks together with your friends. A wireless LAN connection is also available here, so that students can use Free Box for studying and circle meetings.
In this lawn garden stretching under the open sky, one can often see students having lunch outdoors on a fine day.
This campus has student parking that accommodates 515 cars. In addition to commuting by bus, students are allowed to commute to KGU by car if it is necessary for research activities and other reasons.
Library and Media Center
The Library & Media Center houses 200,000 books relating to social science and natural science as well as over 1,800 academic journal titles. It also possesses an abundant collection of audio-visual materials and an online database.
The Design Studio has many drawing tables with a parallel ruler, at which students can work on drawing by hand. This studio enables students to learn about design drawing, from the basics of drawing to architectural design, taking into account their own concepts that meet the given conditions.
This laboratory features motion capture technology, which is used to measure human motion in detail and represent the data as computer graphics (CGs). The technology was utilized to create CGs for the piano performance scenes in “Nodame Cantabile,” a popular Japanese animation. The laboratory also has equipment for measuring brain activity and psychological state.
Senior students of the School of Science and Technology are assigned to laboratories in their respective departments. These students conduct graduation research on the themes they have selected as a culmination of their four years of study. The state-of-the-art equipment and facilities provided in each laboratory help enable cutting-edge research.
Architectural Experiment Building
This building houses rooms whose flooring, wall and ceiling materials can be replaced to change the interior space for research experiments. Here, research is underway into how architectural spaces are influenced by photo environments using different light sources, such as fluorescent light, incandescent light and LEDs.
Kwansei Gakuin Rotary
A terminal for buses bound for Sannomiya, Shin Sanda, and Sanda. This is the place of arrival and departure of the “KG Express,” a direct bus to/from Sannomiya and the “KG Link,” a direct bus to/from Shin Sanda.
