Fostering Professionals and Researchers Who Can Contribute to Solving Regional and Global Issues

The Graduate School of International Studies aims to foster highly-skilled professionals and researchers who can contribute to solving various regional and global issues related to the transformation of the international community and its governance structure. To achieve this aim, the Graduate School offers North American Studies and Asian Studies courses, which are focused on regions, as well as a Global Studies course, which is focused on research into world issues that transcend regional boundaries. All of these courses consist of three specialized fields of Culture, Society / Politics, and Economics / Management.

The Master's program cultivates advanced professionals who will be active in global business and media, international exchange, education and research institutions, NGOs, government offices, and international organizations, while the doctoral program trains students to become highly skilled professionals and researchers active in academia, research institutions, NGOs, government offices, and international organizations. In addition to the ability to read and understand English literature, students will acquire the ability to make presentations in English at international seminars and academic conferences through practical exercises in specialized fields. The Graduate School offers small-group education with multiple faculty advisors; such instruction through multiple advisors ensures objectivity and fairness.
