United Nations Seminar
The United Nations Seminar aims to provide students with opportunities to visit the United Nations Headquarters to learn about the roles played by international organizations, United Nations member states, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in resolving various issues confronting the international community.
The Seminar gives orientations to students who hope in the future to pursue an international career with organizations such as the United Nations, World Bank, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, international cooperation agencies and other governmental bodies, and international NGOs. At the Seminar, participating students hear lectures delivered by both staff of the United Nations Headquarters and staff of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations, and hold discussions with these staff members. Through these lectures and discussions, students can deepen their understanding of the roles of a state, international organizations, national governments, NGOs and citizens in building peace.
