- Professor Suguru N. Kudo Delivers Presentation at the FENS Forum of Neuroscience 2024
Professor Suguru N. Kudo from the Faculty of Engineering delivered a presentation titled "The Functional Transmission of Information in a Mixed-Cultured Neural Network of Chick and Rat" at The FENS Forum of Neuroscience 2024, held in Vienna, Austria, from June 25 to June 29, 2024. Additionally, a graduate student under his supervision presented a study titled "An Attempt to Elucidate How People Perceive Self-Location" (presented by A. Souma).
The FENS Forum of Neuroscience 2024 is a biennial conference focused on the latest advances across a wide range of neuroscience fields, primarily supported by neuroscience societies from across Europe. The event attracted over 7,000 participants from various countries, featured 4,000 poster presentations, 250 invited speakers, and 140 exhibitors.
Professor Kudo's presentation reported on the co-culturing of neuronal cells from rodents and birds, highlighting the mutual propagation of neural electrical activity between these species. His findings provided valuable insights relevant to regenerative medicine and neural reconnection technologies.
