Money and Bank

Public Relations Office        March 26, 2013

It is convenient for you to open an account with a bank located near your accommodation or KGU campus; opening a bank account is free of charge. To open a bank account, you must show your residence card or other items that establish your identity.
Since foreign students staying in Japan for less than six months are treated as non-residents, they often cannot open a bank account through which they can receive remittances from their home countries. In such a case, it is recommended to use an automated teller machine (ATM) to withdraw cash with your credit card.

Cash Dispensers

There are Mitsui Sumitomo and Yucho Bank ATMs on the Uegahara, Kobe Sanda and Seiwa Campuses.

Uegahara Kobe Sanda Seiwa
Mitsui Sumitomo Bank 1 1 1
Yucho Bank 1 1 0

Note: Operation hours are different for each campus. Cash dispensers may charge a fee depending on the day and time.
